Recognize

It's Mike Siddall's Birthday!!! Everyone that knows him will know that already- this is nothing more than an excuse to put up picture of him crashing really. I bet Mike remembers this one:

September '03 - Perth, Scotland. Alley-oop tyre tap over the hip to coping body slider, if anyone's torso can handle this kind of action then I'm sure it's Mike's.

Adswood Megatour

Actually that's most likely to be a lie; I don't know when exactly a tour becomes 'Mega', but I bet you this was nowhere near. I'm scraping the barrel with 'tour' really because we just rode from Stockport to Adswood and back. Glamour!

Gaz bunnyhops in the nose-bonk position in an attempt to make me call this a rail-bonk; I bet he didn't even touch it.

The A6, Tulips and a 360. In that order.

Gaz films Clarky doing a handrail, but there's a bit more to it than just that. For example, I'm stood right on the kerb of a busy road taking this picture; apparently that, along with dodgy flagstones and a shoulder-width garden path now constitutes an acceptable run-up. Another thing you can't see is the old lady in the pink dressing gown at the top right-hand window on the phone to the police. I can't begin to imagine what she was telling them- she saw us within seconds of our arrival and then minutes later watched a bike closely followed by a young man sail down her garden steps. The young man then continued to do this until after the fourth time when there was a round of applause and they all left. I'm pretty certain it was more exciting than Countdown anyway. This all lead to a pretty crazy 10 minutes, especially from what I thought was a joke rail when we pulled up, as in "God, imagine doing that!", it seems you don't need too much of an imagination when you've got an Andy Clarky in your team.

New Bones Ramps....

....well not quite yet, but hopefully with a bit of effort we can get something good made at Bones. It was mentioned a while back that they planned to change the funbox/jumpbox/deathbox part downstairs. They said something about extending the mini-ramp across to a spine near the funbox, but we are hoping to get involved and have the new ramps decided by the people that are actually going to use them. Here are some initial drawings I've done:

The mini-ramp is shown with the transitions cut out to around 7ft (at the moment it's a big valley of a thing at around 9ft). The jumps in the rhythm section are the same width as the current funbox at about 10ft. They should jump the same in either direction and are 4.5ft high with 8ft transitions and 1ft radius rollovers. The top of each jump varies in length between 5ft and 10ft to make the hip.

I've included this view particularly to highlight the mini-ramp transfer possibilities, now if only I was a little virtual man so I could sneak in the computer and try them. Anyway, I'm really interested in what anybody thinks, especially if your sat there thinking "Oooohhh mmmmmyyyyy ggggoooodddd! An 8ft transition with a 1ft rollover; c'mon this's gotta be some kind of joke right?", chances are if you thought that then you obviously know a lot more about this than I do and your likely to be a great source of knowledge. Seriously though, I am very interested in any opinions if you want to leave a comment below.

Steady Diet of Nothing

I can't tell you the relief finishing that report has brought, and in typical Sean fashion I was a whole minute early of the 5:30pm submission deadline, but that doesn't matter now- It's over.

A few weeks back we decided to have a lazy carpark session skating, later we ended up dirt jumping at these dirt jumps. Appearances are a funny thing, I mean these jumps were 3 caravans short of a gypsy camp but it was mint. Delamere the week earlier looked like we could have been at the X Games, but felt like you were going to wear through your rims with braking so much. I'm sure landing flat is supposed to be a punishable offence; not the correct method of setting up for the next jump!

A deadly manoeuvre on this jump- I knocked myself silly doing this in about 10 minutes time.

Gaz forgets its not 1995.

Wheel Barrow - Wheel = Ex-Gypsy Camp ?

Dog Piss.

This is becoming a common sight all of a sudden.

Yeah it may look good here, but I promise you he doesn't budge a whisker until he hits the ground.

Where's the justice? My hand slips off in an X-up then I don't remember any of the next 10 minutes, Tommy lands sideways and gets a dirty shoulder that's not even that dirty.

Eye of the Tornado

Yet more Megadeth post titles- it's so much easier than thinking something relative up. Besides there's something ace about fast music and guys singing passionately about really random stuff like 'weather'.

Sorry there's not much going on round here at the moment, I've got this 40 page report to write for uni and it's been totally consuming my life for the past 2 weeks. Things should be back to normal next week. In the meantime here's Mike Siddall doing a bit.

4 Cameras, 1 Rider & No Brakes....

....you do the math th's 's. I've no idea where I'm going with this, in fact I'll stop it right here. Will demanded that I update tonight you see, not sure I can work under that much pressure- hence the rubbish beginning. Here's something I made up before.

It's a Matt Coram sighting! Shown here combining the pulled roll back with a successful dodging of rush hour traffic. Hardly a good advert for the Green Cross Code is it?

Polaris

I've got that bloody Megadeth song from a few posts back stuck in my head again, I don't have a clue what "Polaris" means but it sounds good when its sung in heavy metal. Here's some pictures of Will at Whitebridge pulling his finger out for some video footage.

Hat is backwards, business is meant.

He might not look it but I swear he was all puffed out here, I think it was the first time I'd ever seen him sweat.

Street Images

There really isn't much more to say than that:

I haven't seen one of these for years so to find a row of 8 was a bit mental- Preston eh?

God knows how many signs. It would appear that 'parking left' is topping the ranks in the information hierarchy- Manchester eh?

It's not hard to figure out which street this is if your local (Whitworth Street West if your not), it sort of looks a lot shorter and wider here though.

Rochdale Tale

The only time I've ever been to Rochdale was about 3 weeks ago. Clarky and I went for some street reconnaissance and it turned out pretty good, although that was probably more for the riding than the reconnaissance- we only found one thing and that was pretty much given to us on a plate. So what's been learnt here? Not much, having been to Rochdale I still only know 2 things about it:

#1) Lisa Stansfield is from Rochdale.
#2) There's a good bank to ledge there.

Oh, and a possible #3) Owain says there's 20 good schools there or something, but I suspect Chinese whispers has played a role in that information, besides it's bringing back that scary hidden paedophile agenda again.

Predictable caption: Andy Clarke works the board- just warming up here.

Next thing, BOOO..... No, no, I'm stopping this right here, Christ guys, it's not double flairs!
